Reviews of books and articles published by Ernest Jones, including psychoanalytic studies, his three-volume biography of Sigmund Freud, his autobiography (published posthumously) and a book on figure skating. A substanital proportion of the cuttings are reviews of the Freud biography, examining the life, work and character of both Freud and Jones; many of these were sent to Jones by colleagues and acquaintances.

The articles were published in a wide range of countries and are taken from national and provincial newspapers and magazines, as well as academic, medical and literary journals. Also included are a small number of typescript reviews and transcripts of radio broadcasts, as well as advertisements and marketing material for the Freud biography.

Files are arranged by the earliest date of each publication under review; the cuttings are arranged chronologically within each file. Some material for the Freud biography volumes is grouped together.
