The Wellcome Library
A large amount of important primary source material for the history of psychiatry, psychology and psychoanalysis, including the records of both mental institutions and individuals involved in the field. Amongst the important collections of personal papers of psychoanalysts are those of D. W. Winnicott, John Bowlby, Melanie Klein, Charles Rycroft and Roger Money-Kyrle. The International Psychoanalytic Association deposited their archive at the Wellcome Library in 2017.

Freud Museum London
The final home of Sigmund Freud and his daughter Anna. The museum includes their library, personal papers, photographs and possessions. The museum also hold the papers of Sándor Ferenczi.

The Albert Sloman Library, University of Essex
Papers of Enid & Michael Balint and Benjamin Wolstein. They also hold an extensive collection of copies of letters by Sigmund Freud.

Planned Environment Therapy Trust Archive
Papers of Marjorie Franklin, Harold Bridger, Arthur Barron and other papers relating to therapeutic communities. The archive also has a large collection of oral histories.

The International Journal of Psychoanalysis
Originally founded by Ernest Jones in collaboration with Sigmund Freud in 1920. The Journal publishes contributions on psychoanalytic theory & technique, the history of psychoanalysis, clinical contributions, education & professional issues, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, interdisciplinary studies, and film essays. It also publishes the main papers and panel reports from the International Psychoanalytical Association's congresses, book reviews, obituaries, and correspondence.

A journal devoted to the study of the history of psychoanalysis and the application of psychoanalytical ideas to historiography.

The Society looks after a 2,000 volume rare book collection, papers of prominent analysts including Berta Bornstein, Max Stern, Mary O’Neill Hawkins, Fritz Wittels, oral history interviews, photographs and memorabilia documenting the history of psychoanalysis.
