Papers by Gillespie and other authors, as well as Gillespie's own notes and patient records.

The papers by Gillespie are: 'A contribution to the study of fetishism' (1940, two versions); 'The structure and aetiology of sexual perversion' (1956); and 'The psychoanalytic theory of sexual deviation with special reference to fetishism' (1960, with a transcript of a discussion following presentation of the paper at a conference of the Portland Clinic, correspondence relating to publication of the paper in a book edited by Ismond Rosen and an offprint of the published chapter). Also the following undated papers: 'Psychoanalytic concepts of instinct and ego development as illustrated by problems of sexual perversion'; 'The theory of fetishism'; a handwritten, untitled lecture on fetishism and perversions; and a handwritten paper entitled, 'Fetishism and masochism'.

Gillespie's additional material includes loose notes, drafts and incomplete papers; patient case notes (currently closed to researchers); letters (incomplete photocopy of a letter from Ella Sharp commenting on 'A contribution to fetishism', plus a letter regarding copyright); anonymised case notes from Special Problems Conferences, 1953 and 1955; and various reading notes and list of references.

Typescripts by other authors are: 'Some observations from the analysis of a horse' by [?] Anderson (1955, with Gillespie's comments for discussion); 'The meaning and genesis of fetishism', by Angel Garma (1955, with cover letter); 'Object-relation changes in the analysis of a fetishist', by Dugmore Hunter (1952, with Gillespie's comments for discussion); 'A case of fetishism', by Martin James (1954); 'Foreskin fetishism and its relation to ego pathology in a male homosexual', by Masud Khan (1965); and 'A contribution to the study of masochism and fetishism', by L H Rubinstein (1953). Also included are a small number of offprints by Phyllis Greenacre, Masud Khan and Melitta Sperling.
