The following papers related to the BMA's special committee to investigate the subject of psychoanalysis: a legal opinion on the use of the terms 'psycho-analytical' and 'psycho-analysis' (1921) written by Humphrey King, KC, and apparently used in the investigation; a letter from Ernest Jones to the 'British Medical Journal' (1924) stating the willingness of the British Psychoanalytical Society to engage in a public discussion of psychoanalysis; papers related to the BMA's investigation (three items of correspondence, plus copies of the committee's report, 1927-1929); the text of a speech made by Edward Glover on presenting a chair to Ernest Jones following the formal recognition of psychoanalysis by the BMA (1929).

There are also two later letters regarding the confirmation the status of the Institute of Psychoanalysis with the BMA.
