Also included is a typed manuscript by Masud Khan, entitled 'Strength from Vulnerability. An appreciation of Dr Guntrip's "Schizoid Phenomena, Object Relations and the Self"', which was sent to Brierley by the author.

Eighteen brief personal letters and cards from Martha Freud, Anna Freud and Dorothy Burlington to members of the Schwarz family. The first item is a card from Martha Freud to Alice Schwarz (Elisabeth’s mother) in Jerusalem following the death of Sigmund Freud in 1939. The remaining letters are from Martha and Anna Freud to Elizabeth Harding (née Schwarz) and her husband Geoffrey Harding, except for one letter from Dorothy Burlington and two postcards signed by Dorothy Burlington and Anna Freud.
