Reports on the 100th anniversary of the birth of Sigmund Freud.
Articles regarding the 100th anniversary of the birth of Sigmund Freud. These include reports on commemorative events, such as Ernest Jones' lecture tour of the USA and the unveiling of a plaque at Freud's London residence, as well as profiles of Freud and commentaries on his work and legacy.
The articles are taken from national and local newspapers and magazines, as well as from a wide range of academic, medical, literary and religious publications. The majority of items were published in the UK and the USA, but other countries of origin include Italy, Ireland, Switzerland, Portugal, Brazil, South Africa, India, Egypt and Pakistan.
Papers related to four lectures delivered by Ernest Jones to mark the centenary of the birth of Sigmund Freud, including texts of the speeches and some proof versions for the publication of the lectures as the book ' Sigmund Freud: Four Centenary Addresses'.
It should also be noted that Jones sometimes used the reverse side of letters as notepaper and so various items of correspondence, including letters from his publishers, can be found amongst these papers.
