Seventeen letters to Athol Hughes, discussing professional and personal matters; enclosed with the letters are notes on the history of child analysis in Canada, a copy of a personal letter from Scott to Marion Milner and a copy of the script for 'Sessions', a stage performance based on an analysis carried out by Scott.

Also included are a retyped copy of 'Psychoanalysis: the Kleinian view', published in the British Medical Bulletin in 1949 (for which Scott's preferred title is 'Progress of psychoanalysis in Great Britain'); an obituary of Melanie Klein by Scott, published in the Psychiatric Journal of the University of Ottawa in 1982; an article by Scott entitled 'Who is afraid of Wilfred Bion?', presented to the Canadian Psychoanalytic Society (Quebec English Branch) in 1986; notes on Scott's holidays, medical problems and other events in 1995 and 1996; a leaflet advertising a London performance of 'Sessions' in 1996 at which Athol Hughes chaired a discussion; a list of major events in his career between 1933 & 1960 (undated).

The first item is a card from Martha Freud to Alice Schwarz (Elisabeth’s mother) in Jerusalem following the death of Sigmund Freud in 1939. The remaining letters are from Martha and Anna Freud to Elizabeth Harding (née Schwarz) and her husband Geoffrey Harding, except for one letter from Dorothy Burlington and two postcards signed by Dorothy Burlington and Anna Freud.
