Scope and content

Two papers by Gillespie, plus correspondence and other items. The first paper is entitled, 'Extra sensory elements in dream interpretation' and includes a published version dated 1953, and additional introductory material apparently from Gillespie's presentation of the paper to the British Psychoanalytical Society in 1948; draft material is also included. The second paper is entitled, 'Impressions of the First International Conference of Parapsychological Studies, Utrecht, August 1953' and is accompanied by a copy of a related letter from an unidentified author.

The correspondence includes letters from colleagues with an interest in the subject of ESP, as well as letters from members of the British Psychoanalytical Society regarding their experiences with patients.

Additional material includes a review of the book, 'New dimensions of deep analysis. A study of telepathy in interpersonal relationships', by Jan Ehrenwald (1954) and comments for a discussion of an unidentified paper by Dr Amedon[?], as well as patient case notes (currently closed to researchers), reading notes and other notes and cuttings, plus a small number of offprints of works by Jan Ehrenwald, Jule Eisenbud and Emilio Servadio.
